The NESS® water-saving home automation technology is an innovative system that is installed in all types of buildings where hot water is used to make them smarter and more sustainable. Its goal is to bring hot water from the heater to the faucet without wasting a single drop. The technology pumps the stagnant cold water into the installation, through a recirculation process that is carried out through the cold water pipes. Therefore, it is not necessary to add additional piping or a water tank, as it is stored within the building’s own piping. The system saves those litres of drinking water that were lost down the drain, all with the convenience of a sensor that functions as a system activator.
The NESS® technology was developed in 2015 with a system consisting of three modules: a pumping module, a bypass module and a pushbutton module. Every time the user wants to use the hot water, he must pass his hand in front of the capacitive pushbutton module and wait until its light turns red to open the hot water tap. In this way, the user will have saved between 6 and 25 liters.
As its own technology, Métrica6 is in charge of the initial research, the design of the complete product (mechanics, electronics, packaging, etc), prototyping and validation, CE marking, manuals and general packaging, design of the brand image, market and competition studies, analysis of sales channels, international protection of industrial property, cost management, manufacturing plan and its execution, participation in national and international development programmes, processing of grants and subsidies, among countless other tasks necessary to transform an idea into a high-impact scaled commercial product, which continues to evolve with new versions for new markets.
This technology has been commercialized between 2015 and 2017, being replaced by NESS® TECHNOLOGY (v.2018).
