The smart retail comes to Malaga

The mini market pilot inauguration is expected to take place in Summer of this year in Malaga on the campus of University of Malaga. The vicinity of the University is one of the main urban centers of the city with public transport, where a great number of students and engineers will have the experience of the first intelligent and autonomous mini market in Malaga.

Phase of the project

Right now, the concept design is already done and the negotiations for the structure have begun. The mini market will consist in two modules together of approximately 30 square meters

We are focused in the ending of interior design and the installation of the modules. The shop will count with multiple shelves for products, an entry and exit and an information totem. Final preparations will be made in July and the opening will be in August and September.

In this first pilot a shop assistant will be there but the intention in the future is the autonomy and the ability of MIMEX of being energetically self-sufficient.

Objectives

The main objective of the pilot is the validation of the technology used and the shopping experience. Innovation is the key of the project and new technologies have to be tested in real environments where the conditions are not the same controlled as in a laboratory.

The flow of people, goods, check in and check out with the application are some of the main points to check in this pilot.
