The European project MiMEX or Micro Market Experience aims to develop a new smart retail experience in the next two years. It is made up of an international team of researchers, developers, and creators of retail experiences. The consortium is coordinated by the Italian research and technology development company Spindox Labs (Spindox Group), and includes the Turkish e-commerce operator Hepsiburada, Trento’s Fondazione Bruno Kessler, the Spanish R&D company Métrica6 and the Cefla Group, specialized in the engineering and commercial equipment sectors.

MiMEX micromarkets also aim to optimize the remote management of retail stores, with particular attention to the processes of restocking shelves and inventory management.

Vision learning techniques from computers and sensors will be expanded to encompass complex customer purchase movements and precisely control product pickup, leading to the generation of large amounts of data for intelligence training. Through the collection and deep analysis of individual shopper behaviors, MiMEX will be able to personalize future shopping experiences. At the same time, the visual monitoring system will provide tools to observe strict compliance with social security distancing measures for the current pandemic or future health emergencies.

Métrica6 will be in charge of the development of a pilot test of the outdoor technology, in the vicinity of the Andalusian Technology Park,  to obtain conclusions and validate this innovative business model for future exploitation throughout the national territory.
