About This Project

what is greeninmed?

GREENinMED is a project that will create a transnational team of Israeli, French and Spanish experts to promote the dissemination and adoption of new efficient solutions in the consumption and management of water and energy by the Mediterranean tourism industry.

Métrica6 has participated in this project with WAISENSE STAY, being part of the start-ups that have developed new devices that promote water management in a sustainable way. WAISENSE STAY is aligned with multiple national and international plans and policies to promote the international plans and policies to promote digitalisation, responsible consumption and tourism.

what does consist of?

WAISENSE STAY is a technological ecosystem for water and energy efficiency associated with water consumption, designed as a system made up of various modules that can be combined together in different numbers and types to obtain a customised solution for each client that can be expanded at any time.  This innovative technology allows temporary, on-demand recirculation of hot water without the need to add additional pipes – double branch pipes – or tanks, and without the need for building work.

WAISENSE STAY users will be able to use a mobile application to use the technology. This application will be free of charge for hotels and similar establishments, which will only pay for the management platform and big-data.

This application will be free of charge for hotels and similar establishments, which will only pay for the management platform and big-data.

When a user wants to use the hot water, instead of turning on the tap, they can simply use this app to bring the hot water to their room, alerting them when it is available, to turn on the tap and have it come straight out at the right temperature, without having to waste cold water in the process.  Alternatively, you can use an activator module (similar to a light switch) to “call” the hot water.

Other functionalities that are part of the WAISENSE STAY project are: consumption monitoring (with leak detection) and smart irrigation for urban gardens and other green areas managed by tourism companies.

Differentiation, environmental impact (CSR), cost reduction, attracting new types of customers… are just some of the advantages offered by WAISENSE STAY. In addition to being a clear innovation as there are no similar products on the market at a commercial level.

What are the goals?

WAISENSE STAY is aligned with the objectives of the GreeninMED call, where the expected results -generation of a new product and service of value for tourism- clearly coincide with the priorities of the call. It is also aligned with multiple national and international strategies, hence its strategic relevance for us and for the sector, such as:

  • The green transition.
  • Digital transformation.
  • Smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

During the development of the programme, numerous activities have been carried out in order to meet the objectives set. This has led us to achieve satisfactory results in the following areas:

  • The coordination of the project, very necessary for the progress of the project and the achievement of the objectives.
  • The development of the electronics and other control functionalities, whose level of progress is close to 100%.
  • The development of the mechanical part, of vital importance as it has resulted in the hardware part of the new products.
  • Creation of the digital application for both managers and users, a project that is still in progress.
  • The installation and testing in real environments, documenting the tests and results. This task will be carried out in the near future to validate and verify the fulfilment of all the goals.

We are also disseminating the results with actions such as this post.
